Christian Meditation

Meditation is held each Tuesday morning at 10:30 am in St. Mark’s Sanctuary beginning September 10th.

Facilitator: Olga Tilk

This is a FREE clinic and all are welcome!

Meditation is as natural to the spirit as breathing is to the body. Deeply rooted in the Christian tradition, it is an ancient spiritual discipline, a simple way into peace within oneself and union with the Spirit of Christ. This is not to say that meditation is “the only way” to pray or the only way to wisdom. But meditation – silence, stillness and simplicity – does lead to the experience of wholeness that opens, in faith, to holiness. Holiness is the integration of wisdom and compassion applied to daily living.  Meditation is a global practice available to all, and participants are most welcome to use the method in which they are comfortable or trained. The format will include a recorded talk, then several spiritual readings, and beautiful music leading us into a period of silence and stillness. Question/answer/discussion and fellowship to follow.

Stewardship Campaign

Called to be the Church

Our worship is filled with scripture, song, and story about God’s generosity and our response—thanksgiving. In our worship we regularly say what we believe in our New Creed. We believe that we are called as individuals, families, congregations, and a denomination to follow in the way of Jesus to bring about a world of justice and peace.

Over the weeks we focused on how We Sing Thanksgiving by supporting God’s mission. We will share more stories about why we give; how our generosity makes a difference here at St. Mark’s; how we have an impact on the community around us; and how, through the Mission & Service of the United Church, we respond to this call nationally and globally.
