United Church Women

ucw 2016

We are the women of St. Mark’s.  We meet regularly to share and encourage one another and unite for the total mission of the church.   Membership is open to all women of the congregation.

In 2019, St. Mark’s United Church Women donated $9,500 to our congregational Mission and Service commitment, $11,300 to St. Mark’s general fund and $2,700 to local and national outreach projects.

In addition, fair trade coffee and other kitchen supplies were provided for all St. Mark’s events.

The UCW No Bake Bake Sale will be held in February to start the new year with fresh funds to continue support for our many commitments to this congregation and the national church.

Ladies Golf Day 2018

Hawthorne Valley Golf Club

The Ladies Golf Afternoon was a great success! We had 18 ladies from our congregation, some who hadn’t golf for a while, since we were playing best ball everyone helped each other. The golf course was just 9 holes and being the only ones on the course you could hear the laughter through out. The day was a warm summer afternoon so as we finished we all welcomed the air conditioned room with a spread of appetizers and cool drinks to allow time for story telling and the stretching of the length of drives and putts.

Scores were all very close the team with the lowest score: Engraved on our Ladies Trophy is:  Elaine Reid, Linda Bain, Barb Lewis, Debbie Taylor.

Other completions:

Longest Drive:                   Marty Habermill

Closest to the Pin #7:        Emy Moreland

Closest to the Pin #8:        Joyce Waterman

Closest to the String:         Sandra Chase

Everyone went home with a prize, having had lot of fun, great conversation and fed good food and drink.  The New Horizon UCW unit sponsored this ladies afternoon and made a donation to St. Mark’s UCW of $124.55.  Make sure you sign up early next year.
